🌿 NIRAMAYA FOODS, founded by Mehek Khera, is set to launch in over 800 Albertsons stores, blending Indian heritage with nutritious flavors.

Mehek founded Niramaya Foods in September 2022, launching a line of Indian-based dips that blend traditional recipes with modern convenience. These dips, inspired by her great grandmother’s recipes, are not only rooted in Indian culture but are also designed to suit the fast-paced lifestyle of consumers, especially those who appreciate global and exciting flavors for mealtime or snacking. Niramaya Foods offers three flavors: street pav bhaji, masala tomato sabji, and super greens saag, using ingredients like vegetables, spices, and cashews.

🌱 BAM Buckwheat Milk by Paige Hanson enters the SoPac Whole Foods Market, pioneering with its climate-smart, clean-label buckwheat-based milk.

BAM Buckwheat Milk is the first of its kind in the U.S., offering a unique plant-based milk alternative made from buckwheat. Despite its name, buckwheat is not related to wheat but is a seed, rich in complete protein as it contains all nine essential amino acids. BAM’s products, including an Original, Extra Creamy, and a Hint of Vanilla variety, are designed to be both nutritious and eco-friendly. They highlight the sustainability of buckwheat as a crop, emphasizing its benefits for soil health and regenerative agriculture. BAM is committed to promoting agriculture that supports soil health, personal health, and the improvement of American agriculture

🍰 Wonder Monday's cheesecakes expand their footprint in the West Coast, now available at Mollie Stone's Markets, founded by Candace Wu.

They launched single-serve, retail-ready cheesecakes that boast low sugar content, low net carbs, and high protein, catering to health-conscious consumers. With over 500,000 units shipped to all 50 states since its inception in late 2021, Wonder Monday aims to make a mark in the refrigerated bakery section of retail stores. Their cheesecakes are available in six different flavors, providing a variety of choices for consumers looking for a healthier dessert option.

🍪 Lexington Bakes' Cosmic Forest Cookie, made with TCHO Real Fruity Dark Chocolate, is the latest creation from founder Lex Evan.

In addition, LXB is launching in new retailers including Lassens Natural Foods & Vitamins stores.

💸 Acquisitions and Investments

💦 heywell Sparkling Adaptogenic Water secures Alethia as lead investor in its first strategic funding round, aiming for market growth and national product expansion.

Further accelerating growth, heywell partners with leading sales broker Green Spoon and launches retailer favorite energy + lift cherry limeade nationally cofounded by Ashley Selman and Britt Dougherty. Launched in 2020, heywell makes functional sparkling waters that help people meet the demands of modern life. Made with adaptogens, antioxidants and organic caffeine, heywell’s ready to drink beverages support energy, immunity, focus, hydration and occasional stress. Previously funded through angels and female-focused VC Mastersfund, the round will fund the brand’s first marketing initiatives as well as strong sales support. Alethia invests in the next generation of culture-shaping beverage companies, with a focus on exceptional founders and differentiated products with clear paths to scale and exit.

🏆 Expo West 2024's Nexty Awards announced winners including Goodpop, Nemi, and Lentiful, celebrating innovative natural products.

Nearly 1,500 products were in contention, with the final list narrowed down to 154 items across 35 categories. This event, held during Expo West, is a showcase for the most innovative products in the natural and organic sectors, ranging from snacks and bakery goods to beverages and personal care items. 🥇 WunderEggs clinched 1st place at the 2024 Albertsons Innovation Launchpad, beating 680 competitors to win a $163,000 grand prize.

The competition, aimed at emerging specialty and natural food brands, saw a significant number of applicants showcasing innovative products in various categories such as functional beverages, healthy snacking, and global flavors. The top three winners of this competition were awarded prizes totaling more than $300,000, emphasizing the event’s role in highlighting disruptive and innovative products in the retail sector
